Valencia lining up move for Ajax defender Edson Álvarez

Edson Álvarez is obviously unhappy and looking to force himself out of Ajax in January. Luckily for him, he’ll have no shortage of suitors.

According to the Mexican’s agent, who relayed the information to De Telegraaf, Valencia are looking to bring in the 23-year-old on loan for the remainder of the season.

Furthermore, they want to include an option to buy the player at the end of the season.

Though it’s unsure whether or not Ajax will accept a loan deal, they are desperate to recoup as much of the €15m they spent on the player back in summer 2019.

Álvarez is under contract until summer 2024 and has only made six starts in the current campaign.
