Valencia CF pays tribute to Puchades by making him the protagonist of the institutional gift for teams visiting Mestalla during the 2024-25 season | OneFootball

Antonio Puchades, known as 'Tonico', one of the greatest and most beloved Valencian legends, was born on June 4, 1925 in Sueca (Valencia), so in 2025 will be the centenary of his birth.

In this context, Valencia CF wants to pay tribute to him during the 2024-25 soccer season by making him the protagonist of the institutional gift given to each of the rival teams that visit the Camp de Mestalla.

FC Barcelona, as the visiting team on matchday 1 of LaLiga, will be the first club to receive the commemorative poster, which will be personalized for each match. Thus, this one features Puchades and Kubala, in one of their many clashes in the 1950s.

During the 2023-24 season, Valencia CF gave as an institutional gift a poster inspired by the painting of Joaquín Sorolla, in the context of the 100th anniversary of his death.

Now, the club pays tribute to the 'great Tonico', born on June 4, 1925 and who left us, with indelible memory, on May 24, 2013.

In addition, on July 4 was held the municipal plenary session of the City Council of Sueca where a motion was approved to decree the death of the great Tonico, born on June 4, 1925.
