At the start of September, Rafa Mir was arrested after being charged with alleged sexual assault – he was in custody for two days before being released, although the investigation is still ongoing. He was also provisionally suspended by Valencia, although he has been back in the first team reckoning for several weeks now.
Injury has delayed Mir’s return to action, but three months on from being arrested, he is now expected to make his comeback on Wednesday when Valencia take on Ejea in their Copa del Rey second round tie. As per Relevo, the on-loan Sevilla striker has been included in Ruben Baraja’s matchday squad.
Mir is still under the microscope, with authorities currently investigating his case. He has maintained his innocence throughout. Valencia will be keeping tabs on the ongoing situation, but for now, they are preparing for him to make his first appearance since the 31st of August (vs Villarreal).
