Tonight’s Copa Sudamericana semi-final second leg will mark Vágner Love’s 100th match in a Corinthians shirt, but he will not be satisfied unless his side can pull off an epic victory in Quito tonight.
Independiente del Valle stunned Timão 2-0 in last week’s first leg in São Paulo and the striker is looking to celebrate his personal milestone in style.
“I am very happy, very happy. I want to increase that mark by another hundred games,” he told reporters Wednesday.
“But I will be happier if we players come from behind and advance to the final. I will be much happier, it will be a much bigger celebration.
“It’s 100 games I have completed for the club I love and it will be a very important classification for us.”
Vagner Love is on his second spell (and season) with Corinthians. In 2015, he was the top scorer of the six-time Brasileirão champions with 16 goals in 50 matches.
This season he is the leading scorer in the squad with 12 goals in 49 games.
