FC Twente winger Václav Černý is hoping to complete his move to Wolfsburg, according to Voetbal International. The 25-year-old put in a brilliant performance for the Czech Republic, as they beat the Faroe Islands 3-0 on Saturday. Černý scored a brace in the Euro qualification match. In recent weeks, Wolfsburg have reportedly shown strong interest in the former Ajax player.

Speaking to the Czech press after Saturday’s victory, Černý said ‘Of course I am very happy that I was able to make an important contribution with two goals. The boys now know that when I get the ball, I usually shoot it on goal. I hit the ball well on both goals. They were important today.

Earlier this year, Václav Černý’s role in the Czech Republic squad was much smaller than it is now. The right-winger was aware that he had to perform for FC Twente to gain a starting spot in the national team. This season for his club, he scored 15 goals and provided 13 assists in 41 games. Černý continued by saying ‘After the previous period, I had agreed with myself that I had to do well at my club so that I could do something for the team. I’ve been able to do that for the past few months. Now I got a chance and grabbed it with both hands. I could say it four more times: I’m really happy.’

Wolfsburg are showing strong interest in Václav Černý, and the Bundesliga side have been for a while now. Černý didn’t reveal much about his future, but he is keen on the move. Speaking about his future, he said ‘I’d like to say something about it because I’m not the type to beat around the bush. I don’t know the details either, I’m just waiting for the call that it’s going to be okay. I hope to find out soon. It’s up to the clubs.’
