An exciting job opportunity has arisen at Leeds United Football Club for a Junior Physiotherapist based at our fabulous training ground in Wetherby, West Yorkshire.

The Junior Physiotherapist will assist and support the First Team Physiotherapists to provide assessment, treatment and rehabilitation programs to players in the First Team

  • Contribute towards the implementation of the Physiotherapy Programme.
  • Liaise with the Head of Medicine and Performance on the assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of players.
  • To devise individual programmes as and when required to ensure all players maximise their performance and undertake screening of playing squad during the season
  • Manage and carry out all aspects of medical practice including assessments, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries sustained by the first team players, analysing and designing the safest and quickest strategy to ensure a full return to training
  • To ensure all aspects of the role are bound to professional confidentiality
  • Deliver individualised rehabilitation programs and return to fitness protocols for players in the First Team
  • Collaborate with the first team medical and performance staff in relation to all aspects of injury prevention, player performance and rehabilitation of first team players
  • Ensure first team players are compliant with all medical and anti-doping guidelines, rules and regulations of governing bodies
  • Provide match day cover for First Team games as required.
  • Support the First Team Injury Audit.
  • Keep up to date medical injuries on all injuries and to update all files and administration as required by all governing bodies and regulatory bodies including internal databases
  • Ensure appropriate medical records and their confidential storage are kept up to date including recording of injuries, treatment, prevention and rehabilitation sessions and record on medical database
  • Work as part of the matchday medical team in preparing players for the game and provide emergency first aid care as and when required
  • Ensure all medical equipment and supplies are fully stocked and replenished at all times both within the medical base and also at training and on match days at all venues
  • To ensure the medical department staff are compliant with EFL & FA’s guidelines at all times including the qualifications of all staff in all teams
  • Work with the Club Doctor to develop a staff development programme that supports the development of all staff within the department
  • Responsible for overseeing housekeeping of all designated areas, and kept to a high-standard including players tunnel, changing rooms and medical room
  1. Undertake appropriate professional development to keep ahead of best practice Operational Responsibilities:
  • Working autonomously to an agreed level and in the best interests of the First Team
  • Forging positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to benefit the Club
  • Championing all Club policy through ensuring best practice in areas such as safeguarding, health and safety and equality, diversity, and inclusion throughout the coaching department
  • Living the values of the Club and championing our culture to help deliver the First Team performance plan and ultimately the vision of the Club
  • Championing innovative and emerging best practice through accessing internal and external sources of expertise to help contribute to ongoing personal development and the overall First Team programme
  • Engaging in the First Team staff development programme and attending all CPD events
  • Participating in all external CPD to ensure compliance with PL, EFL and NGB standards Essential qualifications:
  • BSc/MSc in Physiotherapy
  • Registered physiotherapist member of the HCPC and CSP
  • FA ITTMiF/ATMMiF qualification
  • FA Safeguarding children certificate
  • DBS check with children’s barred list check
  • UK Driving License Desirable qualifications:
  1. Postgraduate level education in related areas eg. Sports rehab/S&C/SpSci/Nutrition/

Essential experience:

  • Experience of working in physiotherapy
  • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team to support player development Desirable experience:
  1. Experience of working in a football clubs or sporting environments
