UWCL qualifier results

Paris FC vs Wolfsburg (3-3)

It was a thrilling match between the team that ousted Arsenal in the previous round and last season’s UWCL finalists. Wolfsburg took the lead early on in the fourth minute via Endemann, but Paris FC then took advantage of sloppy play and scored two goals in the eighth and 16th minute. Wolfsburg levelled again in the 30th minute via Popp, before Dufour in the 44th minute brought the lead back for Paris FC.

After the break, it was Wolfsburg who was looking for that equaliser and had difficulties finding it. However, they managed to level in the 73rd minute after Popp managed to score again. The 3-3 result means that Wolfsburg are slightly in the advantage going into the second leg of this match-up.

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Sparta Prague (5-0)

Eintracht Frankfurt beat Juventus in the previous round after penalties, but in the game against Sparta Prague, it was considerably easier. They were quickly 2-0 up after 14 minutes and it really escalated after Sparta Prague’s red card in the 53rd minute. The result was a whopping 5-0 to the German side. Freigang scored three times, while Anyomi and Reuteler scored the other two goals.

Valur vs St. Polten (0-4)

In Iceland, Valur played hosts to Austrian outfit St. Polten. It didn’t take long to realise who were the better side and remained dominant throughout the game. St. Polten took an early lead in the 14th minute and never looked back after that 0-1 and scored three more goals in the process. It was a great result to bring home for the Austrian fans and a good position for them to qualify in the second leg.
