The Women’s Champions League round one knockout mini-tournament semi-finals begin on Wednesday. Follow for all the action.
Scorers: Foord 53′, Hurtig 80′, Blackstenius 90′
Arsenal sealed their knockout final appearance after coming through a testing clash with Linköping comprehensively.
Kick-off at the Linköping Arena was delayed by around 15 minutes on account of a fire alarm being set off inside the stadium.
Last season’s semi-finalists were handed a chance to open the scoring early on with a penalty awarded for handball but Kim Little’s tame penalty was pushed away.
The Gunners finally delivered a breakthrough just eight minutes into the second half when Caitlin Foord powered home from Little’s delivery.
A second followed for Jonas Eidevall’s side in the game’s closing stages as Lina Hurtig met Katie McCabe’s free kick with a looping header.
Stina Blackstenius added a third in stoppage time by rolling the ball home from Foord’s lay-off to cap off a comfortable victory.
Scorers: Girelli 6′, 58′, Lenzini 31′, Caruso 45+4′, Cantore 90+1′, Pallis 90+5′
Juventus eased into the knockout final of their group in Frankfurt with a comfortable win over Kazakh side Okzhetpes.
The Bianconere raced out of the blocks and hit the front with just six minutes on the clock when Lisa Boattin picked out Cristiana Girelli in the area to head home.
Shortly after the hour mark, Martina Lenzini doubled their advantage after the goal had initially been awarded to Lineth Beerensteyn before Arianna Caruso extended their lead further in first half injury-time.
As the hour approached, Joe Montemurro’s side added a fourth when Girelli notched her second header of the day prior to Cantore and Ella Pallis putting some extra gloss on the scoreline in the final moments.
Scorers: Clark 69′
Celtic booked their place in the knockout final with a cagey win over Brøndby.
Fran García’s side had to bide their time at Vålerenga Stadion as their hosts proved difficult to break down.
But the Ghirls finally produced a breakthrough as Kelly Clark fired home from close-range after Chloe Craig’s recycled corner.
The captain played a similarly crucial role just four minutes later with a goal-line interception to consolidate her side’s hard-fought victory.
