INEOS will certainly be pulling out all the stops in the coming months to make Ruben Amorim’s start to life at Manchester United as comfortable as possible.

The new head coach will be undergoing his final preparations ahead of his maiden outing in the dugout this weekend in a trip to face Premier League newbies Ipswich Town.

Over the last week, Amorim has been analysing the players at his disposal to determine which XI will best suit the 3-4-3 formation he intends to operate with this season. Of course, he’ll be doing so with mostly Erik ten Hag’s signings, and there’s undoubtedly some in the mix that he’d have opted against pursuing himself.

That’s seemingly why reinforcements are being targeted in the January window. However, as was the case with Ten Hag, transfers are expected to be restricted to loan signings exclusively after another summer of lavish spending.

Reds reignite Randal Kolo Muani interest

According to Le10 Sport, United have made ‘direct contact’ to gauge the availability of Randal Kolo Muani this winter, and with a permanent deal deemed ‘impossible’, they’re open to welcoming the Paris Saint-Germain frontman on a temporary basis.

The 25-year-old has endured a lacklustre one-and-a-half season at the Parc des Princes since the state-owned giants forked out an initial £64.2 million to bring him in from Eintracht Frankfurt in September 2023. He scored merely nine goals and notched six assists in 40 appearances throughout his first season in France and has netted only twice in his 12 outings since 2024/2025 got underway.

Muani, whom compatriot Kylian Mbappe once hailed as a ‘complete striker’, has also failed to nail down a starting role under Luis Enrique, having featured from the off twice in the opening 11 matches of the Ligue 1 campaign while making zero starts in the Champions League thus far.

Yet, you’d expect United’s interest stems from the stellar term Muani oversaw in 2022/2023. A notable 23 goals and 17 assists in 46 games saw him quickly establish himself as one of the most sought-after stars in Europe, so ultimately opting for a PSG switch is surely a decision he has since come to rue.
