US women’s national team head coach Vlatko Andonovski announced the 23-player roster for the 2023 SheBelieves Cup, with Trinity Rodman and Alex Morgan headlining the squad.

Four nations will participate in this year’s edition of the competition: Brazil, Canada, Japan and hosts the United States.

The tournament kicks off on Thursday, February 16 at Exploria as Japan takes on Brazil and the USA faces Canada. Play will then resume on Sunday, February 19 at Nashville’s GEODIS Park with the USWNT vs. Japan, and Brazil against Canada, before culminating on Wednesday, February 22 at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas with the last of the match ups.

“All three of these matches are great opportunities for the players and coaches as we enter the final stretch to choose the World Cup roster,” said Andonovski.

“To get to play three top teams, all who are in the World Cup, over seven days, will test our team mentally and physically, and that’s exactly what we need at this point in our preparations. We still have a few players in the pool recovering from injuries, but we are confident that they will be ready for selection for our April matches.”

The SheBelieves Cup was created as part of 'U.S. Soccer’s SheBelieves initiative to inspire and empower women and girls to achieve their goals in sport and beyond' and will now play its seventh edition after kicking off in 2016.

22 figures from the 23-player roster return after featuring in the team’s January friendlies against New Zealand, with the exception of Megan Rapinoe. But she now returns to the squad, eager to take on opponents and potentially reach her 200 cap with the USMNT. Rapinoe is currently at 197.
