PSV Eindhoven dominated once again at the Philips Stadion, captained by three key USMNT players: Malik Tillman, Ricardo Pepi, and Richard Ledezma. In a heavy 6-1 win against fifth-placed FC Twente, the Americans stole the limelight as the game completely showed why they have become more valuable pieces in Peter Bosz's system. Sure enough, after falling early behind, PSV went into a full remarkable recovery of precision and teamwork-all with the American touch.
Down early, the equalizer came quickly from Noa Lang. Soon after, Malik Tillman seized his moment to show why he is such a vital part of this team. The American midfielder scored the second goal with a scrappy yet effective finish. Sometimes, doing the basics well is enough to make your mark - and Tillman did just that.
Tillman has been crucial for Peter Bosz, not only delivering in attack but also dropping back to help defensively, especially with key ball recoveries.
Ricardo Pepi continues to make his case as PSV's number 9. The American forward closed out the game with a perfectly weighted chip over the goalkeeper, marking his 10th goal in the Eredivisie and 12th in all competitions this season.
Pepi has become a model of efficiency. He knows where to be and when to strike, consistently converting chances. His form has turned him into a real competitor for Luuk de Jong's starting role — a challenge that Peter Bosz can no longer ignore.
The most emotional moment in the game was scored by Richard Ledezma, who had his last call-up to the USMNT in 2020. Coming on as a right-back, far from his usual position, Ledezma netted PSV's fifth goal-a milestone he says had personal meaning to him.
After the match, he shared, "My grandfather was diagnosed with cancer this week, so it was a very special moment. He's very important to me, so it felt good to score. I dedicate this goal to him."
Coach Peter Bosz praised Ledezma's intelligence and adaptability: "He's played in midfield his entire life, but he did a fantastic job as a right-back. He learns quickly and is extremely smart on the pitch."
However, Bosz didn't shy away from realism: "You can see he's not a natural defender, which is understandable. There was a minor issue with a throw-in, but overall, he did a great job."
Ledezma, confident and willing, accepted the challenge: "The coach trusts me. If he believes I can do it, I'll step up. It's no problem for me."
Tillman, Pepi, and Ledezma have become integral pieces for PSV. Tillman is the steady presence in midfield, Pepi scores regularly, and Ledezma has proven to be both versatile and emotionally resilient.
Ledezma summarized the trio's impact thus: "They played very well, just like the rest of the team. Of course, it's special that all three of us scored, which is fantastic for the United States." The American trio's contribution highlighted their growing importance in European soccer, with all three continuing to help PSV dominate the Eredivisie.
