The United States men's national team dropped to 16th in the post-Euro and Copa America 2024 updated standings, the lowest the team has been ranked since Oct. 2022.
USMNT was bounced from Copa America 2024 in the group stage after losing to both Panama and Uruguay. The team's only win came against Bolivia in its opener, the lowest ranked team in the competition.
Even more damning, USMNT is the first host nation to not advance to the Copa America knockout stage since the format was first introduced in 1975. Christian Pulisic, Folarin Balogun and Antonee Robinson were standout performers, but fans wanted change after stale performances and a lack of a style of play.
Still, USA remains the highest ranked Concacaf team in FIFA's updated rankings.
Here's the updated rankings, as of July 18:
Canada is now ranked 40th jumping eight places after finishing fourth in the tournament.

USMNT fired head coach Gregg Berhalter after Copa America 2024. A change was needed, especially with the 2026 World Cup on home soil looming. According to recent reports, Arsenal legend and former Crystal Palace and OGC Nice manager Patrick Vieira is linked with the job. He mutually agreed to part ways with RC Strasbourg making him a free agent.
Vieira began his coaching career in MLS with New York City FC. His tenure with the City Football Group team was likely his best/most consistent managerial period. He was sacked by both Nice and Crystal Palace.
Other names linked with the job include LAFC head coach Steve Cherundolo, but no favorite has emerged yet.
Vieira's name came about after Jurgen Klopp swiftly declined an approach from the United States Soccer Federation.
