Inter are close to agreeing a new shirt sponsorship deal to replace Pirelli for next season after the deal with the Italian tire manufacturer as the club’s main shirt sponsor is set to end after more than two decades.

Today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport are reporting that the likeliest candidate is an unnamed US-based company, and that negotiations are progressing between the company and the Nerazzurri to get a deal done.

Inter president Steven Zhang is hoping to bring a deal to completion by the end of June in order to bring some certainty to the club’s financial and overall situation going forward.

It is thought that Zhang is considering a return to China next week, which case he would have to do four weeks of mandatory quarantine upon arriving, per the current Chinese law.

Pirelli first became Inter’s shirt sponsor in 1995 and formed a strong association with the Nerazzurri but are not renewing their shirt sponsorship deal which is set to expire before the beginning of next season.
