Uriel Antuna insists he has learned from the mistake he made earlier in the season that had the Chivas winger in the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

Viral mages of Antuna and team-mate Alexis Vega partying on the eve of a game against Toluca in August saw both players fined half of their salary for the rest of the campaign.

It was a harsh lesson for the youngsters to learn, but the former LA Galaxy man argues that the incident does not represent who he is.

“Anyone who knows me knows that I train to the maximum,” the 23-year-old said during an interview with the official Chivas website.

“At the beginning things didn’t work out for me, but I always want to give people that joy, that’s why I came.

“It was difficult for me to adapt, but I started feeling better.

“On the subject with Alexis … I’m human, I know when I’m wrong and you have to learn from mistakes, I kept quiet and got to work, I want to show what I’m here for, I always want to show more.”

Antuna, who joined Los Rojiblancos from Manchester City in November 2019, opened the scoring in last weekend’s 3-2 Clásico Tapatío win over Atlas.
