In a recent post on X, journalist Ben Jacobs offered an update on Tottenham Hotspur and their pursuit of Crystal Palace ace Eberechi Eze. It has been stated that Spurs are willing to offer around £55m-£60m to acquire the services of the English talent this summer.
Eze was a top performer for the Eagles in the previous campaign when he produced a string of productive performances for them in the Premier League. The English talent participated in 43 matches for the London outfit last season, netting 14 goals and grabbing 11 assists in all competitions.
The 27-year-old managed to prove his worth in the final third by averaging 3.48 shots per 90 minutes in Premier League football. He kept 27% of his shots on target. Eze even distributed possession relatively well in the opponent’s half, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 74.2% in the top tier of English football (stats via fbref.com).
His current contract at Selhurst Park will expire in the summer of 2027, which could make it difficult for Tottenham to sign him on a cut-price deal in this transfer period.

Eze can shoot the ball with venom from long range and has got the vision to cut open the opposition defence with a killer pass in the final third. He can make a few driving runs with the ball as well and can contribute by scoring his fair share of goals for his team.
The English sensation is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also function as a left-sided wide player if told to do so. He has already proven his worth in the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Tottenham.
Eze would inject more quality and depth into Spurs boss Enzo Maresca’s attack. He has what it takes to secure a regular first-team football at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this season and would serve as an ideal replacement for James Maddison, who suffered a serious injury in pre-season.
At 27, Eze is about to enter his prime, which makes him a decent option for Tottenham to consider this summer. With all things considered, Frank would be wise to go all out to snap him up in this transfer period.
