In a recent report, Diario AS offered an update on the future of Barcelona midfielder Marc Casado. It has been stated that the Catalan club are willing to let the Spanish talent leave this summer.
Casado served as a useful role player at the La Liga club and managed to put in a series of solid performances for them at the centre of the park. The 21-year-old found the back of the net once and earned six assists in 36 appearances for Barcelona last season across various competitions.
The Spanish midfield ace offered decent protection for his teammates at the back as he made 44 tackles, 20 blocks and 22 interceptions in La Liga football. He was accurate when distributing possession from midfield after completing 89.3% of his attempted passes in the Spanish top tier (stats via fbref.com).
His current contract at the Catalan club will run out in the summer of 2028. Therefore, Barcelona are in no immediate need to cash in on Casado this off-season.

Casado loves a tackle and can time his challenges well to earn the ball back for his side inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when required and is an accurate passer of the ball.
The Spanish talent can even chip in by scoring and creating his fair share of goals in the final third. He is primarily a defensive midfielder but can also play as a box-to-box midfielder or as a right-back if needed. However, the talented midfielder is still quite inexperienced at the highest level and could struggle to earn regular game time if he stays with the Catalan club beyond this summer.
Casado is currently playing a useful role in Barcelona boss Hansi Flick’s squad. However, the Catalan club should look to let him leave this summer, but only if they can bring in a suitable replacement for him before the end of this transfer window.
Another option for Barca would be to keep hold of him for the long run because his market value might rise in the future.
