In a recent interview with Give Me Sport, journalist Dean Jones offered an update on Chelsea and their pursuit of Inter Milan midfield ace Casare Casadei. Jones said,

“It seems like they’ve had a bit of a breakthrough.

“Yesterday I mentioned there was a bit of concern, and that was because Nice and two Italian teams were looking at him, and there was some feeling the Nice one might happen, but Chelsea are favourites to sign him now and are close to an agreement.”

Casadei’s Impressive Rise In Italian Football

The 19-year-old has come through the youth ranks of Inter Milan but is yet to make a senior appearance for the Italian club. Casadei has a decent goal-scoring record for Inter Milan Primavera as he has found the back of the net on 25 occasions and grabbed seven assists in 66 matches for them across multiple competitions.

The talented teenager is currently amongst the brightest prospects in Italian football due to his impressive goal-scoring record in the youth levels of Italian football. Hence, Chelsea will do well to lure him to Stamford Bridge before the end of this summer transfer window.
