The 22-year-old arrived over the summer as part of Vincent Kompany’s big rebuild at Turf Moor, and he has established himself as a key part of the Belgian’s defence.

Despite missing a few matches because of injury, Beyer has featured in 13 Championship matches so far this season, forming an almost impenetrable partnership with Manchester City loanee Taylor Harwood-Bellis at the back.

Reports emerged from Germany last week that Burnley want to bring Beyer to Lancashire on a more permanent basis, but in the loan arrangement that was agreed with Monchengladbach there was no fixed fee in there to potentially make it a full-time deal.

Yes No

That means if Burnley do want Beyer then they will have to go to the negotiating table with the Bundesliga outfit, but it appears in the most recent update on his future that they will be receptive to any potential offers.

The Verdict

Trying to get Beyer full-time would be a smart bit of business for Burnley.

The German is only getting better alongside Harwood-Bellis and it would be good to get him tied down for a number of years as he will only continue to improve.

It probably will not be a cheap deal though – with Burnley having one eye on the Premier League already, Monchengladbach will know they can get a bit more money out of them, whether that will be in January or in the summer.

But with the money the Clarets made in sales earlier in the year, plus the amounts they were bidding for Michael Obafemi late on in the summer window, it should be an affordable deal to do.
