Juventus sporting director Federico Cherubini reportedly stayed in London after his side’s Champions League defeat to Chelsea on Tuesday to hold transfer talks amid links to Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic.
Football League World exclusively revealed earlier this week that the Italian giants were keen on the red hot Serbian striker.
The 27-year-old is understood to be an alternative to Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlahovic and it seems action has been taken toward a potential deal.
According to Tuttosport (via Sport Witness), Cherubini did not travel back to Italy with the Juventus squad but stayed in London to hold transfer talks.
The report suggests that the decision to stay on in the English capital and the interest in the Championship striker are linked.
Mitrovic penned a new deal at Craven Cottage last August that runs until 2026 and given his current form you feel Fulham will not want to lose him midway through a season in which they’re hoping to win promotion back to the Premier League.
The Serbian international has scored a remarkable 21 goals in 18 games and is on course to break the Championship goalscoring record.

The Verdict
This is a very interesting development.
Reports in Italy suggest that the Juventus sporting director’s stay in London was linked to the club’s interest in the Fulham forward, which may worry fans of the Cottagers.
It cannot be understated how well Mitrovic is playing at the moment and despite the strength of Marco Silva’s squad, losing him could derail their promotion push.
Based upon that and with so long left on his contract, you’d imagine it would have to be a massive offer for Fulham to even consider a move.
There is also Mitrovic himself to consider. The opportunity to join one of Europe’s biggest clubs does not come around very often and denying him that chance may not sit well with the striker.
It’s one to watch ahead of January, that’s for sure.
