The USMNT's job against Panama has been made a little more difficult thanks to suspensions for DeAndre Yedlin and Timothy Weah, who were both booked against Mexico during the week. With Reggie Cannon also unavailable for this squad, Shaq Moore will likely step in at right-back.

USMNT predicted XI: Steffen; Moore, M. Robinson, Zimmerman, A. Robinson; Adams, Musah, De la Torre; Pulisic, Pepi, Reyna.

Panama absolutely must win here and, so, will field their strongest possible line-up.

Panama predicted XI: Mejia; Murillo, Escobar, Andrade, Cornejo; Carrasquilla, Godoy; Barcenas, Quintero, Rodriguez; Blackburn.

United States vs Panama head-to-head record

The USMNT fell 1-0 to Panama during their previous meeting - the fifth match of this qualifying campaign back in October.

But that was a rare blip in this fixture, with the Stars and Stripes winning 17 matches to Panama's three, with four draws. Prior to the shock defeat last year, the USMNT had gone six without defeat against Los Canaleros, winning four of those games.

An away defeat to Canada aside, the US have been much improved since their loss to Panama, at least in terms of results.

A win here will leave them in an incredibly strong position in qualifying, even if other results don't go their way.

Things went wrong for the USMNT in 2017 but this is a different group with different goals. Destiny awaits.
