Manchester United played out a 1-1 draw against Chelsea in the Premier League at Old Trafford on Sunday.
The Red Devils should have won the game with the clear-cut chances they created.
Bruno Fernandes broke the deadlock from the penalty spot in the 70th minute, but Moises Caicedo equalised just moments later.
The Ecuadorian scored with a sublime 20-yard volley into the bottom left corner of Andre Onana’s goal.
While a draw is not a bad result, United won’t be pleased after squandering four big chances.
Looking at the positives, Noussair Mazraoui was brilliant at left-back. It was his best performance since joining the club.
The Moroccan looked at ease and showed he could be a better solution than Diogo Dalot, who has struggled with his positioning in that role.
The 26-year-old won a stunning 13 out of 16 duels in the game and completed all of his dribbles (5/5).
He had a 92 percent passing accuracy and lost possession just three times over 90 minutes.
Mazraoui has sent a big message to incoming manager Ruben Amorim that he can become a proper solution at left wing-back.
Amorim is likely to stick with his successful 3-4-3 or 3-4-2-1 formation at United. Mazraoui could emerge as a regular starter under the Portuguese.
United are only six points adrift of the top four following yesterday’s draw, but they need to build a winning run soon to reduce the deficit.
The Red Devils host PAOK in the Europa League on Thursday before welcoming Leicester City in the league before the international break.
