This year’s Euros has provided club scouts across football the opportunity to identify some of the most promising young prospects.

Manchester United fans will have hoped heading into the tournament that INEOS would be paying close attention to each nation’s matches to ensure they pick up on any players who could reinforce Erik ten Hag’s options next season.

As such, the Reds have, ironically, been linked most with two players who are yet to feature in the competition: Joshua Zirkzee and Matthijs de Ligt. Similarly, top target Jarrad Branthwaite was cut from Gareth Southgate’s final 26-man squad.

However, only in the past few days have United established their interest in one international who’s impressing on the main stage – Dan Ndoye. The Switzerland attacker has featured in every match thus far – scoring once along the way – and will presumably retain his place in the 11 when the Swiss take on England in the quarter-finals on Saturday evening.

Prior to jetting off to Germany, the 23-year-old had concluded a quiet campaign with Bologna, netting only one goal and notching two assists in 33 Serie A appearances. Yet, his attacking prowess off the right flank has seen him work his way onto INEOS’ shortlist.

Ndoye likely to push for Bologna exit upon Euros return

Italian reporter Gianluca Di Marzio has already revealed that Ndoye will cost in the region of just £21 million this summer, and the player’s agent has made clear his desire to take on a new venture in the coming months.

“He [Ndoye] is ready to go to a superior team to Bologna. He would have no problems making an impact,” Lodovico Spinosi recently announced.

One outlet from Ndoye’s native Switzerland, 4-4-2, claims United have now taken the first steps in potentially agreeing a deal by initiating contact with Bologna.
