Adem Zorgane will finally leave Charleroi this summer. The Algerian international, who captained the Zebras last season, is set to leave the club and join Union St Gilloise. This is according to Sud Info. This is certainly a major coup for Union, signing one of the best performing midfielders in the Belgian Pro League. For Zorgane, he gets to play in the Champions League next season and hopefully cement a spot in the Algerian squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco at the end of the year.
Zorgane has spent four seasons in Belgium with Charleroi, and in each he has been consistently performing well. For many, it has always been surprising that he has only just moved this summer and that the move has not seen him swap Belgium for one of the top five leagues in Europe. However, Union will certainly benefit as Zorgane joins a strong midfield core. The former Paradou AC man played 140 games for Charleroi, scoring 10 goals and providing 27 assists.
Charleroi will certainly have to go into the transfer market this summer to replace Zorgane, especially if they have ambitions of qualifying for the Conference League group stages.
