Union St Gilloise have found their replacement for Nigerian striker Victor Boniface. The Brussels side have announced the signing of Kevin Rodriquez. The 23-year-old Ecuadorian striker has joined from Independiente del Valle and was part of the 2022 Ecuadorian side that went to the World Cup in Qatar. The striker has signed a four-year deal with Union, which includes an option for one more season.
In January he left Imbabura SC to join Independiente, where he made 26 appearances and scored five goals. For Ecuador, he as played five times, including two appearances in Qatar. The striker will wear the number 13 for Union.
Without Boniface, Union have seen Dennis Eckert step up to score the goals. The 26-year-old German striker has already scored four league goals in four league games this season, as well as two goals in two games during Europa League qualification. Last season the forward only played eight games for Union, scoring twice and providing one assist.
