After finally ending a generational wait for another title, Union St Gilloise will want to keep up their rise from fallen giant to a top side in Belgian football this side. With Machida having departed and Chrstian Burgess getting older, Mac Allister will likely be ever present for the side this season.

Young player to watch: Anan Khalaili

20-year-old Israeli winger Anan Khalaili really began to showcase his talent at the back end of last season. He finished with two goals and four assists in 47 games but this year he could have an even bigger impact for Union St Gilloise in both areas.

Transfer window needs:

If Franjo Ivanovic departs for Benfica, Union should go shopping for another striker to play alongside Promise David. Mohamed Fuseini is a good player, but if he were to get injured then you don’t have the player to play off of David. The side also needs to trim down the midfield, with Jean Thierry Lazare the player they are likely looking to move on from. He should be of interest to many Pro League sides given his performances in the league over the years.
