With just days remaining in the transfer window, Danilho Doekhi’s Union Berlin future remains unclear with the Dutchman now in the final year of his contract.
As reported by Kicker, Stuttgart and Wolfsburg have shown interest in signing the 26-year-old who has played 66 games across all competitions for Union since his arrival from Vitesse in July 2022. But not only that, the central-defender also has interest from abroad with PSV Eindhoven monitoring the player’s situation, as well as unnamed Serie A clubs.
De Telegraaf report that PSV’s primary candidate for defence is Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Ko Itakura but should they fail to land the Japan international, Doekhi remains an alternative for the Dutch side.
With an expiring contract, Union are at risk of losing Doekhi on a free transfer next summer but should the player depart the Stadion An der Alten Försterei before the deadline, Die Eisernen will sought after a replacement and so we could expect a busy couple of days at the club.
