Inter’s Robin Gosens is set to undergo a medical with Union Berlin on Tuesday in what will be a major transfer coup for Die Eisernen, who will be playing Champions League football this season.
As reported by Sky Germany, Gosens will pen a five-year contract with Union, signing him to the club until 2028. This comes after Union reached an agreement last week to sign the Germany international for a reported €15m including bonus payments – Gosens’ arrival will be a transfer record for Union, who qualified for the Champions League after finishing fourth last season.
Gosens (29) doesn’t have any Bundesliga experience having switched from Dutch side Heracles Almelo to Atalanta in 2017. A mainstay at the Bergamo club, his impressive performances resulted in a loan move to Inter, which was made permanent last summer.
In 18 months at Inter, Gosens played 58 games across all competitions, scoring five and creating one. The German also played in last season’s Champions League final against Manchester City, which resulted in a defeat for the Italian side.
With his experience at the highest level, there’s no doubt that signing Gosens will be a major transfer coup for Union Berlin.
