Bayern Munich forward Leon Dajaku is set to join Union Berlin this month, sporting director Oliver Ruhnert has confirmed.

The 19-year-old was initially supposed to transfer on a loan deal, but according to Kicker, he will make the switch permanently.

And now, in an interview with BILD, Ruhnert confirmed the transfer is set to take place.

“If he passes the medical check, he will join us tomorrow,” Ruhnert told BILD.

“His main position was always central and up front but last season at Bayern he also played outside. He is an all-rounder.”

Milan, Nice, and fellow Bundesliga side FC Koln were also interested in the youngster.

Dajaku has played 15 games for Bayern Munich II in the 3. Liga this season, scoring three goals and creating another.

He has also played 39 minutes with Hansi Flick’s side in the DFB Cup back in October last year since his €1.5 million transfer from VfB Stuttgart in 2019.

The German youth international will be a welcome addition to Union Berlin’s side, given the recent injury to winger Sherldo Becker.
