An unfortunate injury to one player could be fortunate for Chelsea as a club have reignited their interest in the Blues man.

There’s plenty of bits and pieces brewing up again this week but so far it’s been much quieter in the market for Chelsea than it was last week at least.

The Blues need a new centre back to replace Levi Colwill in my opinion, and they may well turn to a few experienced heads at Manchester City to help with that as they weigh up bringing in a replacement for the England international.

And of course, we all know that Chelsea are trying to sign Alejandro Garnacho this window and there is no way anyone can miss what feels like about three updates about him to Chelsea every day right now! Apparently he’s turned down Bayer Leverkusen and Napoli as he awaits a move to Chelsea.

So there’s plenty of things going on, but there is one player you might have forgotten about who still needs his future sorting out, and that is defender Renato Veiga.

Veiga to Dortmund?

Borussia Dortmund have apparently stepped up their pursuit of Renato Veiga once again as the club scramble to bring in cover for Niklas Sule before the summer transfer deadline.

According to Sky Deutschland, Dortmund remain interested in Chelsea defender Veiga having first explored a move for the versatile Portugal international in January.

Sule’s loss, Chelsea’s gain

Chelsea need a suitor for Veiga and there does not seem to be loads. So Sule’s loss by getting injured may well end up being Chelsea and Veiga’s gain should a move develop here.
