Andreas Pereira ready to quit Manchester United

According to Manchester Evening News, Andreas Pereira is ready to end his journey as a Manchester United player this summer.

The 25-year-old has failed to make a mark at United and spent the previous season on loan at Italian side Lazio. While he did get more game time, there was little for him to write home about.

Having joined from PSV Eindhoven in 2014, Pereira failed to build upon the initial promise he showed at the club. Winner of the prestigious Denzel Haroun Reserve team Player of the Year in 2015, he has failed to build upon that promise.

Lazio has the option to sign the player permanently for €27million this summer. However, given his meagre return of one goal and four assists in 33 appearances, they have little reason to take him on.

Pereira for his part does not appear to have a future at United and could be loaned out once again. He is aware that there will be few opportunities for him at Old Trafford and is keen to make a permanent switch elsewhere.

Pereira still has two years to go on his current deal at United. The Red Devils value him at £21million, a price they will be lucky to get given his recent performances.

At 25, Pereira still has time on his side to reinvent himself elsewhere. It is fair to say that he has now gone as far as he could at United. Hopefully, he will fare better elsewhere.

Pereira has made just 75 appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions, scoring just four goals and making five assists. (h/t Transfermarkt)
