Coventry City have climbed up the table slowly in the EFL Championship and really look set for at least a promotion playoff position. They have won their last three matches out of five, including a 4-1 battering of Fulham.

They are currently third in the table behind West Brom just by goal difference. Mark Robins and his men have one of the best attacks in the league and they keep getting better with every passing day.

Gyokeres has played as one of the forward pair in Coventry’s 3-4-1-2 system mostly on the left side of the pitch. However, he has shown great work-rate covering almost every inch of space in the final third of the pitch. Playing mainly on the left, he has spent most of the time on the left side of the penalty area – the red and orange areas in the above viz, while also drifting a lot towards the right side and spending considerable amount of time just outside the box in the attacking third.

The Swedish international has played almost 95% of his passes in the opposition half and has been a real dangerous player with the ball on his feet. He has attempted a total of 254 passes  with an accuracy of 68% which he can certainly work on to make better, averaging 25 passes per 90 with 45 touches on the ball. Most of his passes have been short and just outside the penalty area, trying to link-up and play quick one-two with other teammates and make runs into the box. Gyokeres has put in a lot of dangerous balls into the box for others with xT sometimes as high as 0.2750 and registering two assists to his name.

Coventry has relied on him to score goals hugely with the player averaging a goal every 102 minutes. Gyokeres has scored eight goals with his stronger right foot while scoring with his head once.
