Without a victory in Ligue 1 in 2024, and now out of the Coupe de France after a humbling defeat against National 1 side Rouen, pressure is growing on AS Monaco manager Adi Hütter, however, the Austrian has assured that he has received the backing of the club’s hierarchy.

Hütter is searching for solutions as he looks to stop the rot at Monaco. “We have to change something and we will find what,” he said after Thursday’s defeat on penalties to Rouen. Whilst L’Équipe have reported that pressure is growing on Hütter, who only arrived at the Principality club in the summer, the Austrian has assured that he continues to be supported.

President Dmitry Rybolovlev, who is exploring the possibility of selling his share in AS Monaco, was present at Les Monégasques’ midweek defeat and Hütter revealed that he spoke with the Russian owner post-match. “Of course (I spoke with him). We spoke after the match with Thiago Scuro as well. He wanted information and to have my opinion on the match. It is clear that everyone was disappointed with the result and at having been eliminated from that competition. Of course, he gave me his support, but everyone is disappointed,” he said at a press conference on Saturday.

Hütter added that he himself did not feel under pressure but added that “it is normal that a lot of people are critical.” He called for a reaction from his team ahead of Sunday’s Côte d’Azur derby against OGC Nice.
