Taking the reins of the Birmingham-based from Steven Gerrard club in November 2022, Emery has orchestrated a dramatic turnaround. Under his guidance, Villa has surged to the semi-finals of the Europa Conference League, while also poised for an unexpected fourth-place finish in the Premier League.

The swift contract talks were prompted by swirling speculations about Emery’s allure across European clubs. Villa’s owners, Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens, quickly moved to secure the future of the 52-year-old manager with a renewed contract, as reported by the Mirror.

Emery unequivocally dismissed any notions linking him to the Bayern Munich vacancy following Sunday’s triumph over Bournemouth. Addressing queries about his purported association with Bayern, Emery asserted, “I am fully focused here, 100 percent.”

This declaration arrived despite endorsements from Bayern’s sporting director Max Eberl and German football legend Lothar Matthaus, who touted Emery as a formidable contender for the position.

Matthaus, speaking on Sky Germany, lauded Emery’s credentials, saying, “I would get Unai Emery from Aston Villa. He’s doing a great job there. He has a lot of experience – including internationally – and he has titles to his name with Sevilla, for example. He speaks perfect English.”
