Aston Villa have reportedly tied head coach Unai Emery down to a new long-term contract.

According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, Emery has extended his stay at the club until the summer of 2027.

The Spaniard arrived in October 2022 after Steven Gerrard’s sacking and has helped the Villans to the Conference League semi-finals this season, while they are also in the pursuit of Champions League football.

In addition to the current extension, the club are keen to sit down with Emery at the end of the season and prolong his stay even further.

He had been linked with several European vacancies that were set to open up this summer but has now ended any speculation that he will depart Villa Park.
