Paul Pogba was the hero as Manchester United pulled off a narrow second leg victory at San Siro.

United took the lead with a precious away goal early in the second half, when Pogba found the net following a goal-mouth scramble.

Zlatan Ibrahimović then came off the bench, but was unable to inspire the Rossoneri to an equaliser against his old club.

Rangers v Slavia (first leg 1-1)

Scorers: Olayinka 14′, Stanciu 74′

Rangers crashed out of the Europa League after they were reduced to nine men at Ibrox.

A header from Peter Olayinka put Slavia ahead in the tie early in the second leg.

Steven Gerrard’s side then went down to 10 men early in the second half when Kemar Roofe was shown a straight red card for kicking Slavia goalkeeper Ondřej Kolář in the face.

And they soon went down to nine men, when Leon Balogun was sent off for a second bookable offence with 20 minutes to go.

If that weren’t bad enough, Nicolae Stanciu then made it 2-0 to Slavia with a stunning strike from the resulting free-kick.

Villarreal v Dynamo Kyiv (first leg 2-0)

Scorers: Moreno 13′, 36′

A Gerard Moreno brace meant, just like the first leg, Villarreal won 2-0 against Dynamo Kyiv.

Moreno extended Villarreal’s lead with a towering header early in the second leg.

The 28-year-old was then on the scoresheet again when he finished to make it 4-0 on aggregate after Dynamo Kyiv had lost possession close to their own goal.

BSC Young Boys v Ajax (first leg 0-3)

Scorers: Neres 20′, Tadić 49′

Ajax finished what they started in the first leg with a professional away performance in Bern.

Erik ten Hag’s side picked up where they left off in the first leg when David Neres tapped in at the back post to make it 4-0 on aggregate.

Dušan Tadić then extended Ajax’s advantage from the penalty spot early in the second half after a handball from Mohamed Ali Camara.

Early kick-offs

Dinamo Zagreb v Tottenham (first leg 0-2)

Scorers: Oršić 62′, 83′, 106′

Tottenham are out after a hat-trick from Mislav Oršić saw José Mourinho’s side relinquish their 2-0 lead from the first leg.

A stunning strike from Oršić gave Hugo Lloris no chance and got the hosts right back into this tie just after the hour mark.

And with seven minutes to go, Oršić got Dinamo back on level terms with an emphatic close range finish to take the tie to extra-time.

Oršić wasn’t done there, however, and in extra-time he completed his hat-trick with a brilliant run and finish to turn the tie completely on its head.

Arsenal vs Olympiacos (first leg 3-1)

Scorers: El Arabi 51′

Arsenal are through despite a disappointing result and performance in the second leg.

Olympiacos blew this tie wide open when Youssef El Arabi fired in an effort which deflected off Gabriel to make it 3-2 on aggregate.

But the Greek outfit’s comeback hopes were dealt a huge blow when Ousseynou Ba was sent off for a second bookable offence in the 83rd minute.

Shakhtar Donetsk v Roma (first leg 0-3)

Scorers: Junior Moraes 59′; Mayoral 48′, 72′

A Borja Mayoral brace helped Roma finish the job in Kyiv.

The Giallorossi extended their aggregate lead early in the second half when Shakhtar were unable to clear their lines, and Borja Mayoral popped up to head home a loose ball.

Shakhtar’s Junior Moraes then slid in at the back post to make it 1-1 in the second leg, but Mayoral soon got his second goal of the night for Roma after some good work from Carles Perez.

Molde v Granada (first leg 0-2)

Scorers: Vallejo OG 29′, Hestad (p) 90′; Soldado 72′

Granada are through despite a second leg defeat in Budapest.

Molde got themselves right back in the tie when Marcus Pedersen’s cross was diverted past his own goalkeeper by Granada’s Jesus Vallejo.

But in the second half, Roberto Soldado made it 3-1 to Granada on aggregate when his flicked header flew past goalkeeper Andreas Linde.

Eirik Hestad then scored another Molde goal from the penalty spot after Yan Brice had fouled Erling Knudtzon in the box.
