UEFA have lifted restrictions on away fans attending fixtures in continental competition, it has been confirmed on Monday night.
It follows an extensive workshop between European football’s governing body and all clubs involved in its competitions.
As a result, a ticket quota of close to 5% of the stadium’s capacity will now be available for visiting fans in the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League as well as international fixtures, when those resume.
That was the previous permitted attendance for away fans prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, tickets will only be sold in line with the official government requirements for countries in their attempts to contain the virus.
As a result, fixtures will be assessed on a game-by-game basis depending on the local guidelines and comes into effect from next week.
In addition, players who have been double vaccinated and/or have recovered from COVID-19 will no longer have to go through pre-match testing requirements, again depend on local regulations.
