It’s quarter-finals week at the 2025 UEFA European Championships!
Following an enthralling two weeks of matches, the group stage has now concluded and there were a mixture of emotions for our City representatives in Switzerland.
A total of eight of our players have reached the knockout phase across four national teams, but Kerstin Casparij and Vivianne Miedema’s Netherlands narrowly missed out on a place in the last-four.
As we reach the business end of the tournament, here’s how to tune-in to the quarter-final ties in the United Kingdom.
After losing their first match at the Euros to France, the current holders responded excellently to reach the knockout stage with strong wins over the Netherlands and Wales.
After beating Andries Jonker’s side 4-0, Lauren Hemp was on the scoresheet as the Lionesses beat Wales 6-1 in St Gallen.
Their back-to-back victories has set up a quarter-final meeting with Sweden on Thursday 17 July at 20:00 (UK) which will be broadcast on BBC One, BBC iPlayer and BBC Sport website.
The last-four tie between Spain and Switzerland could see City stars Leila Ouahabi and Iman Beney battle it out for a place in the semi-finals.
Following wins over Portugal, Belgium and Italy the reigning world champions topped Group B meanwhile the hosts finished second in Group A on four points.
Beney and Co. lost their opening game to Norway before beating Iceland and drawing with Finland which secured their place in the last-four.
Spain and Switzerland’s quarter-final fixture will be broadcast on BBC One, BBC iPlayer and BBC Sport website on Thursday 17 July at 20:00 (UK).
Rebecca Knaak and Sydney Lohmann’s Germany finished second in Group C following wins over Poland and Denmark before losing to Sweden.
City’s centre-back played all three matches, meanwhile our summer signing from Bayern Munich played twice in the group stage.
They will next face Group D’s victors France on Saturday 19 July at 20:00 (UK) which will be broadcast on ITV1 and ITVX.
