A late winner by Rodrygo snatched a 1-0 victory for Real Madrid against Inter Milan in Group-D of the UEFA Champions League.

Lautaro Martinez and Edin Dzeko led the Inter attack as the Italian champions lined up in a 3-5-2 formation. Calhanoglu made his first appearance in the CL for his new club.
Perisic was observed to be the attacking full-back. Darmian was replaced by new signing Dumfries at the right wing-back position.
Vasquez replaced Eden Hazard in attack, and Real lined up in a 4-3-3 formation. The goal scorer Rodrygo came off the bench. Youngster Camavinga also made his UCL debut for the new club.
Vinicius was the most attacking player for Real in this match. Striker Benzema dropped more than the young Brazilian.
Real had slightly more possession than the home team. The passing accuracy was high for both the teams. When we take a look at attack stats, we can see that Inter created more chances than Real in the whole match.
Inter xG was more than two, but the team was unable to convert any chances. The shot accuracy was more for Inter and the players lead the chart in the xG list.
Inter attempted 12 shots from inside the 18-yard box, but none from the 6-yard box. There were plenty of headers attempted towards goal, but Courtois was behind every ball.
Real players attempted eight shots from inside the box and two attempts were on target.
Vinicius and Perisic took four shots and almost had an equal xG rate. Inter created plenty of chances in the first half, but the team managed to take only two attempts in the second half. Real showed domination in the second half and won the game towards the end of the match.
Brozovic controlled the Inter midfield and the Croatian attempted 107 passes in the whole match. He shared 19 passes with Bastoni and received 92 passes in total.
Luka Modric attempted most passes for the away team and he received the most number of passes. He shared 13 passes with Benzema.
Barella and Perisic attempted a lot of passes into the opposition box. Striker Lautaro Martinez just attempted 10 passes in the match.
There were plenty of passes into the opposition box. Carvajal, Valverde, Vazquez and Alaba attempted 14 crosses in total.
Barella was excellent with his passing and created the most threat. The creative zones were wide and there was less penetration around the penalty spot.
Dumfries came off the bench and has the highest xT from dribbles. His other teammates were quite ineffective.
Luka Modric made a lot of passes to Benzema and has the highest xT from passes for Real. The creative zones were similar to Inter.
Vinicius good pace and dribbling has made him the most threatening player with dribbles.
The defensive duels win rate is high in the wider midfield areas. Inter lost duels in at the back.
Bastoni and Dzeko provided aerial strength to the team up-front and at the back.
The loose balls duels win rate is also very low for the home team. Only 41% of the duels were successful.
Casimiro lost a lot of duels in the middle of the park. The defenders won half of the duels at the back.
Duels win rate was high on the right and the team contested fewer duels in the air.
Valverde won more than 65% of his loose ball duels. He was supported by the defenders, who themselves had a high win rate.
