Juventus occupied a lot of positions in the opposition half. The fullbacks pushed up high to support the attack. The midfielders similarly pressed on high to link up with the attacking players.

Juventus came out on top in the xG battle with an xG of 3.01 to Malmo’s 0.38. The visitors also took more than twice the number of shots as their opponents. The home side had more interceptions and clearances since they were pushed up in their own half. Juventus made 30 recoveries in the opponent half. They also dominated the possession, barring the last 15 minutes of the match.

Juventus recovered the majority of their loose balls in their own half. They were also successful in recovering many loose balls in the opponent half. Paulo Dybala won three of the seven loose ball duels that he was involved in, while Alex Sandro won three out of six.

Alvaro Morata was impressive for his team. He was directly involved in two goals for his team, winning a penalty and scoring another goal from open play. The stats indicate that Juventus were equally impressive in nullifying any threats from the home side.
