UEFA apologises to Feyenoord for Conference League final ticketing blunder | OneFootball

Tickets for this month’s Conference League final between Roma and Feyenoord have already sold out but supporters from both clubs are furious after being shut out.

According to a statement on the Dutch club’s website, UEFA apologised for a ticketing blunder that prevented many of their supporters from purchasing tickets to the clash on May 25th.

The club wrote, “UEFA informed Feyenoord this morning during a meeting there will be no additional sales of tickets for the Europa Conference League final because the match is completely sold out.”

“During this conversation, the European Football Association apologised due to the fact that yesterday on UEFA’s website the start time for the sale of 8,500 available tickets was 2PM when it should have been 12PM.”

“As a result, our supporters were massively behind the ball and we immediately sent a complaint to UEFA seeking to reset the sales procedure.”

Adding, “However, UFEA stated there’s no issue because this is a conscious, permanent procedure that’s primarily aimed at the host country and it’s citizens.”

“According to UEFA, they state the ticketing process was a success because, in the end, 89% of the tickets went to Albanian purchasers and 11% went to buyers from 20 other countries.”

“As a result, this means supporters of AS Roma succeeded in buying tickets en masse unlike Feyenoord supporters.”
