Fiorentina have one leg in the Conference League after a 3-0 victory over Ukrainian outfit Polissya in the play-off round on Thursday evening, but lost talisman Moise Kean to a red card after elbowing one of his opponents in a moment of frustration.
Fiorentina picked up a 3-0 win thanks to goals from Kean, Robin Gosens and Albert Gudmundsson in the first leg of their Conference League play-off tie in an away match against Polissya, which took place in Prešov, Slovakia.
Kean opened the scoring with a powerful effort from 25 yards out, which took a deflection on its way into the near bottom corner of the net. There is a possibility that the opener officially goes down as an own-goal.

The Italy international was involved for Fiorentina’s second as well, collecting the ball on the right flank, driving to the byline and lifting up a cross, which eventually fell for Gosens, who slammed one into the roof of the net off his favoured left foot.
The 25-year-old did not last until the end of the half, though.
In a moment of frustration after being clearly held and pulled by the hair, Kean elbowed his opponent in the side and was promptly given his marching orders. This means that he will be suspended for the second leg next week.
Fortunately for Stefano Pioli’s side, Kean’s sending off did not have a negative impact on the scoreline. The Viola were still able to claim a third midway through the second half through Albert Gudmundsson on a swiftly-executed counter attack.

This gives Fiorentina a 3-0 advantage heading into their second leg next Thursday, which will be played on home soil at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
Fiorentina require an aggregate victory in order to qualify for the Conference League final tournament.
Kean 8′, Gosens 32′, Gudmundsson 69′.
