Udinese defender Enzo Ebosse reflected on the health scare that took place on Sunday when Roma’s Evan Ndicka collapsed with apparent chest pains and the match was abandoned.

Following a swift hospitalization and diagnosis that ultimately ruled out any possibility of a heart attack for Ndicka, Ebosse spoke to Udinese Tonight.

“I know Ndicka very well,” said Ebosse. “Even if we haven’t been in touch over the last years. We played for France’s Under-16s together, then he went to Germany while I stayed there.”

“We know that something like this can happen to anyone, but when you see it happen from the stands you don’t think about it. You sit and see that the goalkeeper calls for help, that everyone enters the pitch, that De Rossi approaches the medical staff and makes you understand that the situation may be worse than you think.”

“On Sunday he told everyone he was fine, same thing yesterday. He has now returned to Rome. We are all happy for him and that he can see his family again. Some teammates went to Roma’s locker room to check on the situation. These are things that bring you closer and erase all kinds of rivalries, there is no longer any rivalry involved.”
