Udinese have not looked their best in recent weeks, winning just once in their last seven outings, beating Bologna 3-0 at the end of last month. Their poor form leaves them 15th in the Serie A table after 18 games, only three points clear of relegation candidates Cagliari.
After an inconsistent start to the season, Lazio have started to look better in the last month, winning three of their last five league outings and only losing to league leaders Inter. Maurizio Sarri’s side sit six points behind fourth place Fiorentina, giving them a goal to aim for as the new year kicks off.

Udinese are in the midst of an injury crisis, having to do without Jaka Bijol, Enzo Ebosse, Simone Pafundi, Gerard Deulofeu, Brenner, Semedo Vivaldo and Keinan Davis. Jordan Zemura is also in doubt.
