Following his team’s narrow 1-0 away loss to Verona, Udinese coach Gabriele Cioffi commented on the upcoming makeup game against Roma—wherein the two sides will play the final 20 minutes from last weekend’s suspenson.
The Zebrette fell to one point above the relegation zone tonight after their defeat was coupled with Empoli’s stunning 1-0 upset win over Napoli.
“We’ll prepare for those final minutes against Roma with as much courage as possible,” Cioffi told DAZN.
“Courage is what saves you and helps you reach your objectives. If your approach to those 18 minutes is to simply count them down, you’re more than likely going to concede a goal, especially against big teams.”
Adding flatly, “Our attitude will be to play with courage and determination. This season has been incredibly tough, but we’ve never used any excuses to avoid performing; we’ve always found a way to deliver.”
