Dan Ndoye was Bologna’s most promising player during Wednesday night’s 2-0 loss away to Liverpool at Anfield in the Champions League, but the rest of Vincenzo Italiano’s squad had their work cut out for them right from the off.
Here are the player ratings from Wednesday night’s European Clash on Merseyside.
Bologna
Skorupski 6.5 – Just the two saves for the Bologna ‘keeper on the night, but looked confident and commanding in his area ignoring the two goals that went in.
Posch 6 – Did well to keep Luis Diaz at bay for the most part, was never going to be the easiest game for him to express himself against a dangerous set of Liverpool wingers.
Beukema 5 – Subbed off early after picking up a harsh booking after a minor off-the-ball incident with Ibrahima Konate, but possibly could have done a bit better in the area for Liverpool’s opener.
Lucumi 6 – A relatively solid performance from the Colombian, who was not at any real fault for either of Liverpool’s goals.
Miranda 6 – Decent in possession, but gave Salah that split second of time he needed to create the space to unleash his shot for Liverpool’s second, which killed the game off.
Freuler 5.5 – Saw a lot of the ball when Bologna were in possession, but was not the most accurate in his distribution, with just a 74% pass completion rate by the time he went off.
Moro 5 – If there was a difference in standards between the two teams, it looked most obvious in midfield, where Moro was not quite up to the pace and got shoved off the ball a few times.
Orsolini 5.5 – Stung Alisson’s palms 10 minutes into the second half, but was otherwise a bit predictable coming on to his left foot and was easily matched for pace by Robertson.
Urbanski 5.5 – Could have made life more difficult for Mac Allister in the build-up to the opener – the Argentine snuck right past him. Also needed to do a bit better when he received the first-half cut-back from Ndoye.
Ndoye 7 – The brightest of Bologna’s attacking unit on the night and was able to show his speed and create a few half-chances down on the left-wing.
Dallinga 6 – Had he timed his run slightly better right at the start, Bologna would have had an early lead at Anfield. Quite quiet in the second half.
