Borussia Dortmund's U23s will play their second match at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK on Saturday (23/04). Kick-off against Hallescher FC is at 14:00 CET.

Last Sunday, our U23s watched from the comfort of their own homes as their place in the division for next season was confirmed. SC Verl's loss means our reserves will definitely be playing 3. Liga football next term. A remarkable achievement – but BVB do not want to settle for that. They are still aiming to set a club-record points tally in the 3. Liga, which currently stands at 46 points. The Black & Yellows are only one point away from equalling that record. Moreover, Borussia desperately want to pick up their first victory at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK. "We're hugely looking forward to the game and the setting. We'll give everything in our power to win the match," said BVB coach Enrico Maassen.

Unlike their opponents, Hallescher FC have not yet secured their place in the division for the coming campaign. However, HFC do have a seven-point cushion over the relegation places with four rounds of matches to go. The men from Saxony-Anhalt proved their comeback capabilities in mid-week by coming from two goals down in their game in hand against VfL Osnabrück to claim a 3-3 draw in the dying embers.

Currently 14th in the table, Hallescher FC have only one away win to their name – though the team spearheaded by top-scorer and former BVB player Michael Eberwein did pick up a point in a 1-1 draw in Magdeburg. Halle are also the only team in the division that the league leaders have failed to beat this season.

Dortmund came out on top in the reverse fixture, with Immanuel Pherai proving to be the match-winner with a stunning brace in a narrow 2-1 victory. Last weekend in Meppen, the 20-year-old returned following a lay-off that lasted several weeks. After coming off the bench, the attacking midfielder injected plenty of moment but – as his team-mates had done before him – could not convert some very good chances and BVB had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Maassen: "We played a really good game in Meppen. But we need to take the next step in terms of efficiency and decisiveness in front of goal." Perhaps that step will come against Halle on Saturday and the team will be able to celebrate their first three points at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK with the fans.
