Matchday 30 of the 3. Liga season is on the agenda this weekend. The Borussia Dortmund U23s will be away to Würzburger Kickers on Sunday afternoon. Kick-off in Franconia is at 14:00 CET.

Having lost their last three games on the bounce, the Black & Yellows will be aiming to return to winning ways at the weekend. "We didn't have a good game last week. We want to improve upon that against Würzburg," BVB goalkeeper Luca Unbehaun had said in midweek. With 41 points on the board, coach Enrico Maassen's team are in a comfortable mid-table position but, according to Unbehaun, "could have picked up one or two more points".

Meanwhile, opponents Würzburg have 24 points and are in a battle for 3. Liga survival. Ralf Santelli was handed the coaching reins around a month ago and has since guided the team to six points from his four games in charge. The Bavarian outfit have won both of their last two matches: the Kickers beat SV Wehen Wiesbaden last weekend, before coming out on top against ambitious Regionalliga club Schweinfurt 05 in the Bayrischer Landespokal in midweek.

The Black & Yellows won the reverse fixture at Stadion Rote Erde by a 2-0 scoreline, with Tobias Raschl and Richmond Tachie scoring the goals that clinched the win early on in the game. On the personnel front, BVB boss Enrico Maassen can call upon Niklas Dams following his recovery from illness. Kolbeinn Finnsson is still out with a meniscus injury, but there was good news regarding the Iceland junior international in midweek: the 22-year-old extended his contract, which was set to expire, by a further year.
