A pair of up-and-coming talents at La Liga giants Real Madrid have been afforded call-ups to the club’s first-team squad, for their next outing.
Carlo Ancelotti’s troops are of course set to mark their return to action on Tuesday, in a league meeting with Deportivo Alavés.
Fresh off making it four wins from four at the expense of Espanyol over the weekend, Real will head into proceedings brimming with confidence, no doubt eager to put the pressure back on table-topping arch rivals Barcelona.
And, in efforts towards as much, two of the club’s emerging crop of young defenders could yet be afforded the chance to contribute.
This comes amid confirmation that Jacobo Ramón and David Jiménez have been afforded call-ups to Ancelotti’s matchday squad to face Alavés.
Central defender Jacobo is a player who will be familiar to many of a Blancos persuasion, with the 19-year-old having been in and around the senior setup in Spain’s capital throughout pre-season and the early weeks of the new term.
Right-back Jiménez’s inclusion, though, comes as more of a surprise, the 20-year-old having taken the place of the rested Dani Carvajal in Real’s setup for Tuesday night.
