Portuguese side Sporting CP have recently intensified their efforts to sign Vitor Roque, as reported by the well-known journalist Fabrizio Romano.

He mentions that within the last 24 hours, Sporting have actively engaged in negotiations with Deco and Roque’s agent, aiming to secure the young talent’s services.

In contrast, FC Porto, another Portuguese club interested in the Brazilian, do not seem to be in advanced discussions regarding Roque’s potential transfer.

It must be noted that Roque’s departure from Barcelona has been widely speculated, as the 19-year-old forward appears to have fallen out of favour with the Catalan giants.

The club’s decision to part ways with the Brazilian starlet comes amidst growing uncertainty surrounding his future, leading to an increased interest from various clubs, both within Portugal and across Europe.

Heavy interest from Portugal

Among the interested parties, Sporting have emerged as a serious contender for Roque’s signature. In fact, the Portuguese club is one of several teams eyeing the young forward, recognising his potential to make a significant impact.

Although Sporting’s main rivals, Porto, were initially reported to be interested in Roque, talks between Porto and the player have not progressed. As of now, there are no substantial negotiations between them and Roque, despite their earlier interest.

Barcelona, on their part, are reportedly seeking a transfer fee of at least €30 million for Roque. The club aims to recoup a significant portion of the investment they made when they signed the young winger in January.

While Sporting seem to be leading the race for Roque, they are not the only club interested in his services. English Premier League side Everton have also expressed interest in signing the Brazilian forward, along with a few other clubs from the Premier League.

However, according to Romano, the possibility of Roque moving to Portugal, specifically to Sporting, appears to be gaining momentum.
