A pair of sidelined members of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona will be present with the Spanish national team squad on their journey to Berlin, for Sunday’s Euro 2024 finale.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Pedri and Gavi as the duo in question.
Pedri, of course, was widely expected to join the rest of Luis de la Fuente’s squad at the Olympiastadion, with his latest injury blow having come during the course of the tournament itself.
Gavi, on the other hand, has been sidelined since all the way back in November of last year, owing to a serious knee injury suffered whilst on international duty.
The 19-year-old is known to maintain a close bond with his compatriots, having visited the Spanish camp already this summer, albeit with it having until today been unclear whether or not he would join La Roja on their trip to the German capital.
As alluded to above, though, this will indeed prove to be the case.
As per MD:
‘Gavi will fly on an RFEF charter at 10:40 in the morning to the German capital and will join his colleagues. The Andalusian footballer is especially excited to join Pedri, Fermín, Lamine, Ferran and company. And the group will be delighted because the culé player is one of the most beloved in the locker room.’
